Prohod emerged in 2012 from Sibiu as a project blending atmospheric black metal with melodic, folk‑tinged elements and expressive vocal work. Their sound is shaped by layered guitars, ritualistic moods, and the distinctive presence of wind instruments, giving the band a unique voice within the Romanian black metal landscape. After an initial active period ending in 2014, Prohod returned in 2019 with renewed creative energy, releasing a series of singles that expanded their sonic palette and thematic depth.

Their debut full‑length Hotarul îmbrelor (2013) introduced their atmospheric and melodic approach, followed by the 2014 split Ascension: Paramatman. The band’s later singles—Herghelia Nimicniciei, Pilda, Frângerea Lumii, A doua moarte, and Raskolnikov—showcase a more refined, emotionally charged direction, marked by dynamic arrangements and the interplay between harsh vocals, clean passages, and traditional instruments.

Prohod also contributed a cover of “Lunar Poetry” to the 2016 compilation 22 Years Among the Sheep, further cementing their presence in the Romanian underground.
