Prometeum emerged in 2005 from Baia Mare as a melodic–symphonic black metal project blending traditional black metal aggression with dramatic keyboard arrangements and mythological, Satanic, and death‑oriented themes. Their sound leaned toward the early‑2000s Romanian symphonic underground—raw yet ambitious, driven by layered keyboards, tremolo‑picked melodies, and a theatrical atmosphere.

Their sole known release, Muribunde angelis (2005), stands as a snapshot of that era’s regional symphonic black metal aesthetic: cold, melodic, and steeped in occult and mythic imagery. After this release, the project eventually dissolved, with its members moving on to other Romanian extreme metal acts.
