Propalitet is a Bosnian black metal and dungeon synth project founded in 2024 in Konjic by the musician known as Inferno. Conceived long before its official formation, the project emerged fully formed with a clear thematic and aesthetic identity: a descent into suicidal ideation, spectral visions, psychological collapse, and the liminal spaces between life and death. Propalitet’s sound blends raw, depressive black metal with cold, minimal dungeon synth atmospheres, often shifting between hypnotic repetition, melancholic melodic lines, and eerie ambient passages. The project’s prolific output and conceptual cohesion quickly drew attention within the Balkan underground, where it stands out for its emotional intensity and hallucinatory ambience.
The early releases of 2024—Smrt u blizini, Tranquility in Suicide, Zaboravljen, Damned to Purgatory for All Eternity, Distraught Memories, and The Perpetual Midnight Fog—established the project’s core sonic palette: lo‑fi guitars drenched in reverb, distant screams, funereal pacing, and dungeon synth interludes that evoke isolation and spiritual decay. These works were noted by underground listeners for their raw sincerity and the way they merge depressive black metal with ambient storytelling. The demos in particular carry a sense of immediacy, as if documenting a psychological unraveling in real time.
In 2025, Propalitet expanded its vision with the full‑length The Eternal Twilight, a more structured and immersive release that deepened the project’s atmospheric range. This was followed by Lost in Sorrow, Distorted Dreams, Projections of Death, and the ambitious full‑length Kaleidoscopic Illusions of My Fate, which showcased a more cinematic approach to dungeon synth while retaining the bleakness of the earlier material. These releases demonstrated Inferno’s growing command of mood and narrative, weaving themes of despair, hallucination, and metaphysical dissolution into cohesive sonic journeys.
By 2026, Propalitet continued its relentless pace with an untitled demo and the EP Desecration of What Once Was, further refining its blend of spectral ambience and depressive black metal. Across all releases, the project maintains a consistent emotional core: a fixation on the afterlife, the dissolution of identity, and the haunting presence of inner demons. Propalitet’s work resonates with fans of raw, atmospheric, and deeply personal black metal, while its dungeon synth elements place it within a broader tradition of introspective, narrative‑driven dark ambient music.
