Prorok was an extreme underground act from Laktaši, active between 2008 and 2019, known for its abrasive fusion of raw black metal, harsh noise, and grindcore. The project, led by the prolific multi‑instrumentalist VoĹľd Jovan Pogani, embraced a deliberately primitive aesthetic—lo‑fi production, chaotic structures, and confrontational lyrical themes rooted in Satanism and anti‑religious provocation. The band’s name, meaning “Prophet” in most Slavic languages, reflects its fixation on blasphemy, inversion of religious symbolism, and the desecration of institutional faith.

Their early output, including the 2009 demo In the Name of Satan and the full‑length SatanistiÄŤka krv, established Prorok as one of the most unfiltered and hostile voices in the Bosnian underground. These releases combined relentless tremolo riffs, distorted bass, blast‑driven percussion, and shrieked vocals buried deep in the mix. The full‑length in particular became a cult item among collectors of Balkan raw black metal, noted for its uncompromising sound and incendiary track titles. The band’s demos from 2010–2011 (Antibog, Demon iz crne reke, Antihrist) continued this trajectory, each release pushing further into abrasive territory while maintaining a ritualistic, almost improvised feel.

Prorok also participated in the regional underground through compilation appearances and a split release. The Satanic Communion split (2012), shared with Eris, showcased the band’s harshest material and circulated widely in tape‑trading circles. Their contributions to Grim Reaper Records’ Black Metal Compilation Vol. 1 (2018) and Raw Black Metal Compilation Vol. 3 (2019) helped cement their reputation as a key—if deeply obscure—presence in the ex‑Yugoslav extreme metal scene. Despite minimal promotion and a fiercely DIY ethos, Prorok earned a following among fans of raw, hostile, and deliberately unrefined black metal.

The project ceased activity in 2019, leaving behind a discography that captures the volatile, uncompromising spirit of the Bosnian underground. Prorok remains a reference point for collectors of Balkan raw black metal and for those tracing the lineage of extreme, noise‑infused black metal in the region.
