Siniac was one of the earliest and most ambitious extreme metal acts to emerge from Skopje, forming in 1999 under the name Ravencoloured before adopting their definitive identity later that same year. Their sound fused symphonic black metal with progressive structures, philosophical lyricism, and a distinctly Macedonian sense of melodic expression. At a time when the local scene was still developing, Siniac stood out for their technical proficiency, conceptual depth, and willingness to experiment beyond genre conventions.

The band quickly gained attention with their 1999 self‑titled demo Siniac, which showcased a blend of atmospheric keyboards, intricate guitar work, and harsh vocals layered over dynamic arrangements. Their early material earned them a place on several compilations, including 10. Moст фестивал на урбана култура (2000) with the track I Blaze Alone, and the 2001 compilation Преку таквото with Tiveriad Sea, highlighting their growing presence in Macedonia’s underground metal and alternative culture.

In 2001, Siniac achieved a notable milestone by winning the international underground band contest Loser Fest, which brought them broader recognition and affirmed their reputation as one of the most promising Macedonian metal acts of the era. That same year, they contributed a cover of Uninije to the official Tribute to Mizar, aligning them with one of the most influential dark‑wave/rock bands in Macedonian music history.

Their 2002 EP Figment of Imagination / Tiveriad Sea further refined their progressive and symphonic elements, blending philosophical themes with complex song structures. This release paved the way for their full‑length album Timeless Gatherings... (2003), widely regarded as their creative peak. The album combined melancholic melodies, layered keyboards, and introspective lyrics exploring nihilism, existential struggle, and the fragmentation of the self. Its production and composition placed Siniac among the most sophisticated Macedonian metal bands of the early 2000s.

Despite their momentum, the band eventually dissolved, leaving behind a compact but influential discography that helped shape the early symphonic and progressive black metal identity in North Macedonia. Members later dispersed into various other projects, continuing to contribute to the region’s underground music landscape.
