Stone’s Lament emerged from Vilnius in 2000, a short‑lived but notable fragment of the early‑2000s Lithuanian black metal underground. Although their existence was brief and their output limited to a single demo, Revelation (2000), the band is remembered for its raw, unpolished approach and for the later prominence of several members within the Lithuanian extreme metal scene. Their sound aligned with the second‑wave black metal aesthetics circulating in the Baltics at the time—cold riffing, minimal production, and a focus on atmosphere over technicality—reflecting the DIY ethos that defined many Lithuanian acts of that era.

The group’s lineup connected Stone’s Lament to a wider network of Vilnius musicians who would go on to shape the region’s metal identity. Guitarists Gedas and Simas “Ä–riukas” had ties to Andaja, one of Lithuania’s important pagan/folk‑black metal acts, while drummer Eima was active in Mandragora and previously in Burying Place and VÄ—linÄ—s, all of which contributed to the development of the local extreme metal landscape. The most widely recognized member associated with Stone’s Lament is Enrikas Slavinskis, who later became a key guitarist in Obtest and Soul Stealer—bands that achieved far greater visibility and helped define Lithuanian pagan and heavy metal internationally.

Though Stone’s Lament dissolved quietly and left behind little documentation, their lone demo has become a minor collector’s item among followers of obscure Baltic black metal. Their legacy survives primarily through the later achievements of their members and their role in the tightly interlinked Vilnius metal community of the early 2000s.
