Tarm was one of Pärnu’s defining pagan black‑metal projects of the 2000s—a band shaped by constant movement, shifting lineups, and a core vision rooted in raw pagan atmosphere. Emerging in 2002, Tarm belonged to the same regional current that produced Third Descent, Ulguränd, and the early Pärnu–Tallinn crossover scene. Their sound blended traditional pagan black‑metal aggression with a melancholic, forest‑bound mood, often carried by keyboards and mid‑tempo riffing.
The band’s early years were turbulent, with frequent lineup changes and a revolving door of musicians from Pärnu, Tartu, and Tallinn. Yet the project found its center in KĂĽĂĽvits SĂĽnge, who eventually became the band’s primary creative force—handling vocals, guitars, and drums. His presence, along with bassist Priit, anchored Tarm through its later years and shaped the sound that culminated in their final full‑length.
Tarm’s discography traces a clear evolution:
After 2017, the project went silent. In 2024, Tarm officially re‑emerged under a new name: Kyyvits, marking a continuation rather than a rebirth—same creative nucleus, new identity.
