Time of Tales was a folk metal band from Mielec, active between 2009 and 2016, and known for blending energetic guitar‑driven metal with Celtic‑inspired folk instrumentation. Their music carried a distinctly uplifting, melodic character, shaped by lively tin‑whistle and flute lines woven into a foundation of modern folk metal riffing. Though rooted in the Polish underground, the band drew heavily from Irish folk traditions, giving their sound a bright, dance‑like quality that contrasted with the heavier edge of their metal framework.

The group was built around the songwriting partnership of Grzegorz Słomba (lead guitars, vocals) and Tomasz Frask (rhythm guitars), whose melodic interplay formed the backbone of the band’s identity. Over the years, Time of Tales expanded their sound with additional musicians, including violin, keyboards, and eventually the tin whistle and Irish flute of Piotr Występek, whose arrival in 2013 marked a turning point toward a more authentic folk atmosphere. The rhythm section also evolved, with drummer Piotrek bringing greater precision and energy in the band’s later period.

Their debut EP, Enter the Gates (2014), introduced a spirited blend of folk melodies and metal drive, showcasing the band’s ability to merge catchy hooks with traditional influences. This momentum culminated in their full‑length album Tales of Time (2016), a polished and vibrant release that captured the essence of their style: melodic, folk‑infused, and rich with storytelling flair.

Despite their promising trajectory, Time of Tales disbanded shortly after the release of their debut album. They remain a fondly remembered presence in the Polish folk metal scene—an earnest, melodic project that celebrated folklore, melody, and the joy of blending metal with traditional sounds.
