Todlicht is an atmospheric black metal project from Sarajevo, shaped around themes of emotional desolation, winter landscapes, and profound inner solitude. The project remains shrouded in anonymity, with all music written and performed by the musician known as Einsiedler—an alias that translates to “hermit,” fitting the project’s introspective and isolated character. Todlicht’s sound is rooted in the melancholic side of atmospheric black metal, blending cold tremolo melodies, distant screams, and immersive ambient passages that evoke a sense of frozen stillness and emotional collapse.
The project first surfaced in 2018 with the demo Einsamkeit, a release whose title (“Loneliness”) encapsulates the core of Todlicht’s aesthetic.
