Voidfire is a melodic black metal band from BiaĆystok, active since 2018 and known for approaching the genre from an unusually introspective angle. Instead of focusing on traditional black metal themes, Voidfire turns inwardâtoward the struggle for artistic inspiration, the weight of emotional suffering, and the fragile, flickering presence of hope. Their music is sharp and melodic, but always anchored in a sense of searching, of trying to carve meaning out of inner turmoil.
The band was founded by three core creators:
In 2019, Krzysztof Sobczak joined as vocalist, bringing a powerful, expressive delivery that elevated the band’s emotional range. His voiceâharsh yet deeply humanâbecame a defining element of Voidfire’s identity.
Their first single, “Kwiat pustki” (2019), introduced their blend of melody and melancholy. This was followed by “ĆwiatĆoâCierĆ” (2020), a track that sharpened their sound and hinted at the emotional depth of their debut album.
Voidfire’s first fullâlength, OgieĆ pustki (2020), was a breakthrough: a melodic black metal record that balanced aggression with vulnerability, earning strong underground acclaim for its sincerity and compositional strength. The followâup, W cienie (2022), expanded their paletteâmore atmospheric, more dynamic, and more emotionally layered, exploring the shadows where despair and hope coexist.
Still active, Voidfire continues to refine a style that stands apart in the Polish black metal landscape: melodic, introspective, and driven by the restless pursuit of meaning through art.
