Aeons Confer is a long‑running symphonic black/death metal band from Hamburg, formed in 1997 and known for crafting dense, cosmic, and philosophically charged soundscapes. Their music blends aggressive black/death foundations with sweeping orchestral arrangements, electronic textures, and a futuristic atmosphere, creating a style often described as cinematic, multidimensional, and concept‑driven. From their earliest recordings, the band has explored themes of the universe, human limitation, metaphysical wisdom, and the existential enslavement of mankind, framing their work as a narrative journey through cosmic evolution and inner awakening.

Their first recorded appearance came in 1999 with the track “A Fallacy of Faith,” featured on the compilation Furor Teutonicus, marking the band’s entry into the German underground. In 2003, Aeons Confer released the EPs Mirrors Heart and The Soul of the Universe, both of which established their signature blend of harsh vocals, layered keyboards, and atmospheric electronics. These early works were later collected in the 2005 compilation The Chronicles of Aeons Confer, which helped solidify their reputation as one of Germany’s most ambitious symphonic extreme metal acts.

After years of refinement and lineup evolution, the band released their monumental debut full‑length Symphonies of Saturnus in 2013. The album received strong praise for its massive production, intricate arrangements, and conceptual depth, weaving together black metal ferocity, death metal precision, and symphonic grandeur. Critics highlighted the album’s immersive atmosphere and its ability to balance aggression with cosmic introspection.

Aeons Confer continued their trajectory with the 2016 single “Plasmoid” and the 2019 full‑length Zero Elysium, a darker, more futuristic work that expanded their electronic and industrial influences while maintaining their orchestral backbone. The album was noted for its thematic focus on extinction, transcendence, and the collapse of human civilization, delivered through a dense, meticulously layered sound.

With a lineup anchored by long‑time members Nils (drums) and Simon (guitars), alongside Alexander (guitars), Thomas (keyboards), Bernhard (vocals), and Dennis (bass), Aeons Confer remains an independent and fiercely self‑directed force. Their music continues to evolve toward ever more expansive, cosmic, and philosophically rich territory, standing as one of Germany’s most distinctive symphonic black/death metal entities.

The band's first output was the song "A Fallacy of Faith." It was recorded in October 1999 and is featured on the black metal compilation "Furor Teutonicus" (Label: Voenger).
