At Radogost’s Gates is a Serbian black/death metal project founded in 2002 with a singular artistic vision: to narrate one continuous story across three full‑length albums. Conceived as a conceptual saga rather than a traditional band, the project blends black and death metal elements with philosophical themes, mythic imagery, and meditations on time, nature, and human introspection. Its name references Radogost, a Slavic deity associated with hospitality and sacred space, hinting at the project’s interest in pre‑Christian symbolism and metaphysical storytelling.
The early years (2002–2003) saw the formation of a full lineup and the development of the project’s narrative framework. The demo Dyau (2004) served as the first public glimpse into this conceptual world, introducing the project’s atmospheric yet aggressive sound. The music combined sharp riffing, harsh vocals, and a sense of dramatic tension, reflecting the unfolding mythic storyline. Although the demo circulated primarily in underground Serbian circles, it established At Radogost’s Gates as a project with unusual ambition and thematic depth.
After a long period of silence and lineup changes, the band resurfaced with the full‑length Reflection of a Lunar Eclipse in the Stained Mirror of Time (2014), released through Horror Pain Gore Death Productions. This album represented the first major installment of the planned trilogy and showcased a matured, more atmospheric approach. Critics and underground listeners praised its conceptual cohesion, philosophical lyricism, and the interplay between black metal ferocity and introspective, almost progressive elements. The album’s title reflects the project’s fascination with cycles, reflection, and the distortion of time—central motifs in the overarching narrative.
Despite the strength of the 2014 release, the project’s status became uncertain in the years that followed. No further albums from the planned trilogy have been released, and activity appears to have slowed or ceased. Nevertheless, At Radogost’s Gates remains a unique entry in the Serbian extreme metal landscape: a project defined not by productivity but by vision, narrative ambition, and a deep engagement with philosophical and natural themes.
