Cosmic Vision emerged from Brandenburg in 2018 as a one‑person project dedicated to exploring the intersection of progressive black metal, atmospheric soundscapes, and melodic death metal. Guided entirely by the musician known simply as CV, the project blends intricate guitar work, layered harmonies, and expansive arrangements with a strong sense of emotional and cosmic scale. The music often shifts between soaring melodic passages, blackened intensity, and reflective, almost meditative interludes, creating a sound that feels both personal and vast.

The debut full‑length One Love to Last (The Stellar Sphere; Prologue) (2021) introduced Cosmic Vision’s core aesthetic: long‑form compositions, progressive structures, and a strong emphasis on atmosphere. The album was noted in underground circles for its ambition and its ability to merge multiple stylistic threads into a cohesive narrative arc. Its themes revolve around cosmic wonder, emotional transcendence, and the search for meaning within an immense, indifferent universe—expressed through sweeping melodies and dynamic shifts rather than explicit lyrics or conceptual exposition.

In 2022, the single The Song for the Guardians of Freedom showcased a more direct and melodic approach while retaining the project’s characteristic sense of scale. The track highlighted CV’s ability to balance technicality with emotional resonance, offering a glimpse into the project’s evolving sound.

Cosmic Vision reached a new level of refinement with the 2024 full‑length In the Sign of Nature. This release deepened the project’s atmospheric dimension, weaving naturalistic themes into its cosmic framework. The album features intricate guitar layering, fluid transitions between aggression and serenity, and a heightened sense of melodic storytelling. Reviewers and listeners praised its clarity of vision and its ability to evoke both the immensity of the cosmos and the intimate beauty of the natural world.

Operating independently and maintaining a low public profile, Cosmic Vision has cultivated a dedicated following drawn to its blend of progressive complexity, atmospheric depth, and melodic emotionality. CV’s work stands as a testament to the expressive potential of solo extreme metal projects—music shaped by introspection, ambition, and a fascination with the vast spaces between stars and within the self.
