Biography

Dreamlike Horror was an Italian symphonic black/death metal band active from 2003 to 2006, emerging during a period when many underground acts were blending orchestral elements with extreme metal intensity. Their sound fused dramatic keyboard arrangements, harsh vocals, and melodic yet aggressive guitar work, creating a style steeped in darkness, horror‑themed imagery, and emotional turmoil. Although their activity was brief, the band left behind a small but distinctive mark on Italy’s early‑2000s extreme metal landscape.

Their earliest recording, the Delightful Suicides promo (2000), predates the band’s official formation and captures the raw foundations of their symphonic approach—bleak atmospheres, gothic overtones, and a fascination with psychological decay. This material was later expanded and refined on their sole full‑length, Delightful Suicides (2005), which stands as the band’s definitive statement. The album showcases their blend of orchestral grandeur and death‑tinged black metal aggression, wrapped in a mood of despair and theatrical darkness.

Dreamlike Horror disbanded in 2006, leaving behind a compact discography that reflects the era’s fascination with merging symphonic drama and extreme metal ferocity.
