Eigen.Welt was an instrumental post‑black metal/post‑rock project founded in 2012 in Würzburg, Bavaria. Conceived and executed entirely by Daniel Bieberstein, the project explored a deeply introspective and atmospheric sound world, merging the emotional weight of post‑black metal with the expansive, cinematic qualities of post‑rock. Without vocals, Eigen.Welt relied on texture, dynamics, and mood to communicate its themes—favoring melancholic melodies, layered guitar work, and slow‑building crescendos that evoke isolation, inner struggle, and psychological depth.

The project’s sole release, the EP F32. (2013), takes its title from the clinical code for depressive episodes, signaling the emotional and conceptual territory the music inhabits. The EP is characterized by shimmering clean passages, distorted surges, and a sense of restrained tension that gradually unfolds across each track. Listeners and underground reviewers often praised its ability to convey raw emotion without words, relying instead on atmosphere and instrumental storytelling.

Though active years remain unclear, Eigen.Welt appears to have dissolved quietly, with Bieberstein moving on to other projects within the German extreme and atmospheric metal underground. Despite its brief existence, the project left behind a small but resonant work that continues to appeal to fans of introspective, instrumental post‑black metal.
