Entirety is a black metal band from Varese, Italy, formed in 1997 and active without interruption for more than two decades. Their sound has evolved from raw, traditional black metal into a darker, more atmospheric and introspective form, while maintaining the cold aggression and emotional severity that define their identity. Entirety stands as one of the longest‑running and most consistent black metal acts from Northern Italy, known for a work ethic rooted in sincerity, independence, and a refusal to follow trends.

The band’s early years were marked by demos and underground activity that established their foundation: fast, icy riffing, harsh vocals, and a bleak, misanthropic tone. Over time, their music grew more structured and expressive, culminating in a series of full‑length albums that expanded their thematic and atmospheric range.

Their discography includes The Fall of the Human Race (2000), Fragments of a Shattered Soul (2004), Abyss of Existence (2009), Inner Dimensions (2014), and The Unbearable Void (2024). Across these releases, Entirety refined a style that balances traditional black metal ferocity with melodic undercurrents, introspective moods, and a sense of existential weight. The later albums, in particular, show a more mature and immersive approach, with layered guitar work and a colder, more oppressive atmosphere.

Lyrically, the band explores themes of inner collapse, metaphysical emptiness, human fragility, and the psychological abyss. Their work avoids theatricality in favor of a stark, personal form of expression that resonates with the bleakness of their sound.

Despite their longevity, Entirety have remained firmly underground, avoiding commercial exposure and maintaining a strong DIY ethos. Their consistency, authenticity, and long-term presence have earned them a respected place within the Italian black metal landscape, especially in the northern regions where they originated.
