Eskhata was a short‑lived but ambitious Serbian metal project that blended melodic death metal, black metal, and folk elements into a unified, nature‑driven aesthetic. Though the band officially formed in 2009, its conceptual groundwork began two years earlier, with members shaping a sound rooted in Slavic folklore, natural mysticism, and fantasy‑infused storytelling. Their music combined harsh vocals and melodic riffing with atmospheric passages and folk‑inspired motifs, placing them within the lineage of Balkan bands exploring mythic and pastoral themes through extreme metal.

The band’s debut demo One with the Earth (2010) introduced their core identity: melodic yet aggressive guitar work, layered harmonies, and a lyrical focus on unity with nature and ancient lore. The demo’s raw but spirited execution earned Eskhata attention within the Serbian underground, particularly among listeners drawn to folk‑tinged extreme metal.

In 2011, the single Storm marked the band’s final release. It showcased a more polished sound, with stronger rhythmic cohesion and a clearer integration of folk‑melodic elements. Despite this promising evolution, internal changes and shifting member commitments led to the project’s dissolution around 2013.

Eskhata’s lineup featured musicians active in various corners of the Serbian metal scene, bringing influences from black metal, melodic death metal, and folk‑oriented projects. Their brief existence left behind a small but memorable footprint—an earnest attempt to merge extreme metal with the mythic and natural spirit of the region.
