Eternal Suffering was founded in 2006, from the ashes of a disbanded thrash/death metal project called Hell Hunter (which had been active from 2003-2005).

The first Eternal Suffering EP, Beyond the Threshold of Twilight, was recorded with the band's first line-up in 2009, only to be remastered and released in 2017.

Eternal Suffering is a symphonic black metal band from Macomer, Nuoro, Sardinia, Italy, formed in 2006 from the ashes of the thrash/death metal project Hell Hunter (active 2003–2005).Their music combines traditional black metal riffing and harsh vocals with symphonic and atmospheric elements, and lyrically focuses on themes such as nature, anti‑religion, paganism, and hate.

The band’s first EP, Beyond the Threshold of Twilight, was recorded in 2009 with their original lineup but remained unreleased for years; it was eventually remastered and officially released in 2017, bringing their early material to light in a more polished form. After a first active phase from 2006 to 2013, Eternal Suffering resumed activity in 2017 and continues as an underground Sardinian symphonic black metal entity, maintaining a strong connection to their roots and to the island’s extreme metal scene.
