Hailstone was founded in December 2008 in Munich and quickly established themselves as a force within Germany’s melodic death/black metal underground. Their sound blends sharp, melodic riffing with blackened aggression, alternating between high‑energy assaults and atmospheric passages. Over the years, the band has evolved through multiple lineup changes while maintaining a consistent core of melodic intensity and technical precision.

Their early demos—Demo 2009 and Demo 2011—laid the groundwork for their debut full‑length The Greater Counterfeit (2012), a record marked by tight musicianship and a clear sense of direction. The EP The Operation (2014) followed, showcasing a more refined and aggressive approach. With Epitome (2016), Hailstone delivered their most mature and cohesive work to date, balancing melodic death metal’s sweeping leads with black metal’s raw edge.

Despite shifts in membership, the band has remained active and steadily productive, anchored by long‑standing members who have shaped Hailstone’s identity across more than a decade.
