Mond (German for “moon”) was a short‑lived depressive black metal duo from Belgrade, active only briefly between 2010 and 2011. Despite their minimal output, the project fits neatly into the early‑2010s Serbian DSBM micro‑scene—raw, emotionally bleak, and intentionally stripped of polish. Their music leaned heavily on atmosphere: distant guitars, anguished vocals, and a lo‑fi production aesthetic that emphasized isolation and emotional collapse.

The band released a single demo in 2011, simply titled Demo, which circulated in very limited underground channels and was later picked up by Winterkalt Records, a label known for supporting raw and depressive black metal. The recording reflects the hallmarks of the genre: repetitive, sorrow‑laden riffs, hollow production, and a sense of emotional exhaustion rather than aggression.

Mond’s lineup consisted of two musicians who were already active in the Belgrade underground:

Both members were involved in other depressive or atmospheric projects, and Mond appears to have been a brief creative outlet rather than a long‑term endeavor. The band dissolved quietly after 2011, leaving behind only their lone demo as a document of their existence.
