Morbus Gravis is the long‑running solo extreme metal project of Anachron’Amon, founded conceptually in 2009 and formally realized in 2014 once the necessary home‑studio resources were secured. The project’s name comes from Latin—Morbus Gravis meaning “grave sickness”—and its creator’s chosen name, Anachron’Amon, is derived from Ancient Greek and Latin roots meaning “he who is against the Light.” These etymologies are not ornamental; they reflect the project’s philosophical and esoteric orientation.
Musically, Morbus Gravis operates at the intersection of industrial black metal and death metal, with a strong emphasis on atmosphere, conceptual density, and ideological exploration. The sound is harsh, mechanical, and ritualistic—driven by programmed percussion, layered guitars, distorted vocals, and samples that reinforce the project’s thematic preoccupations.
