Morphinist is one of the most prolific and stylistically fluid projects to emerge from the German post‑black metal underground. Founded in 2013 by the multi‑instrumentalist Argwohn, the project blends atmospheric black metal, post‑metal, drone, doom, and psychedelic elements into a sprawling, hallucinatory body of work. Thematically, Morphinist gravitates toward altered states, cosmic dissolution, and philosophical introspection—mirroring the project’s restless, experimental nature.

Between 2013 and 2019, Morphinist released an extraordinary number of demos, EPs, and full‑length albums, often several per year. The sound ranges from shimmering, cosmic post‑black metal to crushing doom‑laden atmospheres, always anchored by Argwohn’s distinctive sense of mood and texture.
