Sakramentum was a short‑lived but ambitious symphonic black/death metal band from Belgrade, active between 2011 and 2015. Their sound fused melodic black metal aggression with death‑metal weight and a strong symphonic backbone—keyboards, layered vocals, and dramatic arrangements that placed them closer to the theatrical, European‑style symphonic extreme metal of the early 2000s.
The band debuted with the single Relentless Angel (2011), followed by the EP Beyond the Dark Mountains (2012), which showcased their full stylistic range: soaring female vocals, harsh male vocals, melodic guitar leads, and dense keyboard atmospheres. Their music was polished by Serbian underground standards of the time, and their live presence—captured on the 2014 Invasion From the East – Live in Novi Sad compilation—helped cement their reputation as a technically capable and theatrically inclined act.
Sakramentum’s lineup featured musicians who were already deeply embedded in the Belgrade extreme‑metal ecosystem. Many of them later appeared in or had previously played with bands like DaggerSpawn, Scaffold, Atlantida, Dawn of Creation, Kramp, Soul in Cage, and Оскрнавитељ. This makes Sakramentum a connective point between the symphonic/melodic wing of the scene and the harsher black‑metal underground.
