Stilleklang was founded in 2019 in Bad Breisig and quickly established itself as a deeply emotive presence within the German atmospheric black and post‑metal underground. The project is centered entirely around the creative vision of Fabian Veith, whose work blends melancholic black metal elements with post‑metal expansiveness, introspective lyricism, and a strong sense of emotional vulnerability. Stilleklang’s music is defined by its immersive atmospheres, expressive guitar layering, and a vocal delivery that shifts between fragility and cathartic intensity.

From the beginning, Stilleklang has focused on themes of inner struggle, loss, emotional memory, and the search for meaning within personal darkness. The project’s sound draws from atmospheric black metal’s coldness and post‑metal’s cinematic breadth, creating long, flowing compositions that emphasize mood, texture, and emotional storytelling over aggression.

The debut full‑length Tränen der Vergangenheit – Part I (2022) introduced Stilleklang’s signature style: sorrowful melodies, layered guitars, and a reflective tone that resonated strongly with listeners seeking emotionally charged atmospheric metal. The album was noted for its cohesive narrative structure and its ability to balance heaviness with delicate introspection.

In 2023, Tränen der Vergangenheit – Part II continued and expanded the conceptual arc of its predecessor. The second part deepened the project’s exploration of grief, memory, and emotional healing, offering a more mature and refined sound. The album’s blend of post‑metal crescendos, atmospheric black metal passages, and heartfelt clean sections showcased Stilleklang’s evolution and solidified its place within the modern German atmospheric scene.

Stilleklang remains an intensely personal project, with Veith handling all instruments and vocals. His work in Odium Immortalis and Basarab further reflects his commitment to emotionally driven, atmospheric forms of extreme metal. Despite operating independently, Stilleklang has cultivated a dedicated following drawn to its sincerity, emotional depth, and immersive sonic landscapes.
