Trautonist is a post‑black metal duo from Koblenz, founded in 2014 and named after the early electronic instrument Trautonium. Their sound blends blackgaze, atmospheric black metal, and shoegaze, drawing frequent comparisons to Alcest, Lantlôs, Heretoir, and Deafheaven. From the beginning, the project has been centered around the creative partnership of Dennis (all instruments, vocals) and Katharina (vocals), later joined by Hendrik on drums.
