Tuscoma evolved out of the Wellington band Hollywoodfun Downstairs in 2018, redirecting their earlier chaotic noise‑rock energy into a harsher, more atmospheric post‑black metal form. The shift marked a decisive transformation: where the previous incarnation was frantic and angular, Tuscoma embraced a colder, more expansive sound built on tremolo‑driven intensity, abrasive textures, and a sense of emotional disorientation.
