Erebos is a prolific atmospheric black metal project founded in 2016 in Paterek, Kujawy‑Pomerania, and driven entirely by its sole creator, who operates under the name Erebos. True to the meaning of the moniker—“darkness,” derived from the Greek primordial deity of shadow—the project channels a vast, enveloping sense of gloom, solitude, and natural mysticism. From the beginning, Erebos embraced a raw yet deeply atmospheric approach, often instrumental in its earliest phase, gradually evolving into a more narrative, nature‑driven form of black metal steeped in cold ambience and forest‑bound melancholy.

The project’s early output in 2017 was remarkably intense and abundant, with multiple full‑lengths and EPs released in rapid succession. Nan iChir Gelair Mordor and The Light in My Darkness introduced a lo‑fi, immersive sound built on repetitive, hypnotic riffing and windswept ambience, evoking desolate landscapes and the vastness of Tolkien‑inspired mythic realms.
