Night Slasher is a Vilnius‑based black/speed metal band formed in 2023 from the ashes of the long‑running Lithuanian speed/thrash outfit Alcotopia. After nearly a decade of activity under their previous name, the members re‑emerged with a new identity, shifting their sound toward a darker, more aggressive fusion of black metal ferocity and high‑octane speed metal. The rebranding marked a decisive stylistic evolution: harsher vocals, colder riffing, and a more violent, nocturnal atmosphere, while retaining the energetic, riff‑driven backbone that defined their earlier work.
The band debuted immediately with two singles in 2023—“Pit of Hate” and “Black Trip”—both of which showcased their sharpened direction. “Pit of Hate” delivered a raw, fast, and venomous attack reminiscent of early Teutonic thrash filtered through black metal aesthetics, while “Black Trip” leaned into a more melodic but equally vicious speed metal approach. The latter track was later featured on Fistful of Thrash Vol. 3 (2024), helping introduce Night Slasher to a broader international underground audience.
Their first full‑length, Night Slasher (2024), released through Ossuary Records, solidified the band’s identity. Critics and zines praised the album for its relentless pace, razor‑sharp riffing, and the band’s ability to merge blackened aggression with classic heavy/speed metal hooks. The record’s production maintained a raw edge without sacrificing clarity, allowing the dual‑guitar attack and rapid‑fire drumming to shine. Vocals by Laurynas Karka added a harsher, more commanding presence compared to the Alcotopia era, giving the band a distinctly blackened character.
