Zorza is a rising post‑black metal band from Grodzisk Wielkopolski, active since 2022 and already carving out a distinct identity within Poland’s modern atmospheric and emotionally driven black metal movement. Their name—Zorza, meaning “northern lights”—captures the essence of their sound: luminous, shifting, and charged with a sense of awe and melancholy. The band’s music explores death, nature, agnosticism, and the full spectrum of human emotion, blending harshness with introspective clarity.
At the core of Zorza’s sound is king), the project’s founding force and primary creative anchor since 2022. Guitarist Eryk Lange joined at the project’s inception, shaping the melodic and atmospheric backbone of the music. Over time, Zorza expanded into a more collaborative and performance‑ready entity. Vocalist Refur contributed from 2024 to 2025, bringing a raw emotional edge, before the role passed to Amorth in 2026, whose presence marks a new chapter for the band’s vocal identity.
Zorza’s live lineup further solidified their presence on stage:
Their debut EP IEI (2023) introduced a sound that was both atmospheric and emotionally charged, quickly gaining attention for its clarity of vision. The full‑length Hellven (2024) expanded that foundation into a sweeping, immersive work—balancing post‑black metal’s soaring melodies with moments of introspective calm and existential weight. The album’s title reflects the band’s thematic duality: the tension between suffering and transcendence, despair and beauty.
Still active and evolving, Zorza stands as one of the most promising young voices in Poland’s post‑black metal landscape—melodic, emotionally articulate, and driven by a desire to explore the liminal spaces between light and darkness.
