Ceremonium emerged in 2014 from San Lorenzo as one of Paraguay’s most devoted practitioners of raw black/death metal, channeling a sound steeped in ritualistic darkness, sexual blasphemy, and occult invocations. Their music embraces the South American tradition of primitive extremity: harsh, abrasive guitar work, cavernous vocals, and a ritual‑driven atmosphere that prioritizes intensity over refinement. From their earliest recordings, the band cultivated an identity rooted in esoteric themes and visceral aggression, aligning themselves with the underground’s most unfiltered expressions of black/death metal.
Their debut single Ceremonia morbosa (2014) introduced the project with a lo‑fi, bestial approach that set the tone for their subsequent releases. The band’s breakthrough came with the 2017 EP Necromanticam Ritualia Impura, a limited edition release of 50 copies that has since become a sought‑after artifact among collectors. The EP features six tracks—“Intro,” “InvocaciĂłn al Trono Oscuro Ancestral,” “Last Rites Before the Eternal Damnation,” “Desertor,” “Negro Altar de AdoraciĂłn,” and “MĂłrbida DepravaciĂłn Sexual y Lujuria”—and showcases the core trio of Dantalion (vocals), Frost (drums, backing vocals), and Demon (guitars, bass). The recording captures the band’s defining traits: ritualistic chanting, relentless drumming, and a suffocating atmosphere of occult depravity. YouTube Discogs
In 2018, Ceremonium expanded their presence through the split Supremacia DemonĂaca, further embedding themselves in the regional underground. Their work is characterized by a consistent thematic focus on demonic supremacy, sexual transgression, and anti‑Christian invocations, delivered through a sonic palette that blends black metal’s cold ferocity with death metal’s heavier, more punishing edge.
The band entered a new phase with the 2025 EP Thaumiel – El ART del Diamante Negro, signaling a continuation of their ritualistic direction while incorporating a more refined sense of composition. Despite lineup changes over the years, Ceremonium has maintained a cohesive identity anchored by Demon’s guitar work and Dantalion’s commanding vocal presence. Their releases remain firmly rooted in the underground, often produced in limited quantities and circulated through dedicated South American extreme metal networks.
