May Result is one of the foundational pillars of Serbian black metal, formed on June 6th, 1995 by Kozeljnik, Ilija, and Rastko. Their original intention was explicit: to create an ultra‑extreme band rooted in the harshest traditions of black and death metal. What followed was a decade‑long evolution into one of the most influential and respected acts in the Balkan extreme metal sphere.

Their early years were marked by rapid development and intense underground activity. The band’s first live appearance took place on December 16th, 1995 in Smederevo, already signaling their commitment to a raw, uncompromising aesthetic. Early members such as Vladan (bass) and Srđan (vocals) helped shape the primitive, violent sound that defined their initial era.

May Result’s discography reflects a steady ascent in ambition and maturity. Their 2000 debut Gorgeous Symphonies of Evil introduced a blend of melodic sensibility and harsh black metal aggression, while Tmina (2001) and Светогрђе (2004) expanded their thematic and atmospheric range, weaving Slavic paganism, death mysticism, and blasphemous imagery into increasingly sophisticated compositions. The band’s final full‑length, Слава смрти (2008), stands as a culmination of their stylistic evolution—dark, ritualistic, and steeped in the pagan spirit that became their hallmark.

Throughout their active years, May Result maintained deep ties with the broader Serbian scene. Members frequently intersected with The Stone, Kozeljnik, Gavranovi, Ophidian Coil, and other key projects, forming a dense creative network that shaped the identity of Serbian black metal in the 2000s. Their live presence was equally significant, documented in releases such as Деценија црног пламена – Live in Belgrade 2005.

The band entered an indefinite hiatus after 2010, following the death of founding member Rastko in 2020 and the shifting focus of core members toward other projects. Despite this, May Result’s legacy remains firmly intact: a cornerstone of Serbian black metal, a bridge between the raw extremity of the 1990s and the more refined pagan‑black expressions of the 2000s.
