Necrofeast was a pagan black metal band from South Holland, formed in 1992 and active through the second half of the 1990s into the early 2000s, embodying one of the earliest Dutch expressions of raw, primitive pagan black metal. Their music revolved around paganism, darkness, and death, delivered with a harsh, unpolished sound typical of the era’s underground. The band’s name and aesthetic aligned with the rising pagan black metal movement of the time, marked by cold riffs, ritualistic atmospheres, and a rejection of Christian influence.

The core of Necrofeast’s recorded legacy consists of the demo Demo #1 (1993), the self‑titled full‑length Necrofeast (1996), the demo Wederkeer der heidenen (1998), and the album Soulwinds (2000), released through Drama & Sin Company. These works captured the band’s evolution from raw early recordings to a more defined pagan black metal identity, while maintaining a lo‑fi, aggressive edge. Their contribution “In Het Teken Van Thor’s Hamer” to The 666th Celebration Part 2 Tape further cemented their place within the Dutch underground.

The last known lineup featured Dagon on vocals—an active figure in the Dutch black metal scene through projects such as Gestalte and Hekel—while earlier incarnations included multi‑instrumentalist Herr Krieger, drummer Charon, and the elusive Centurion. Though the band eventually split up, Necrofeast remains a relic of the early Dutch pagan black metal movement: obscure, uncompromising, and rooted in the raw spirit of the 1990s underground.
