Númenor stands as Serbia’s most prominent Tolkien‑inspired metal band, a rare fusion of symphonic black metal, epic power metal, and fantasy‑driven storytelling. Their lineage stretches back to 2004 under earlier names, but the Númenor identity—named after Tolkien’s star‑shaped island kingdom—fully crystallized in 2009. From the beginning, the band embraced a hybrid aesthetic: blackened vocals and atmosphere intertwined with melodic power‑metal grandeur, keyboards, and high‑fantasy lyricism.

Their discography is unusually rich for a Serbian epic metal act, spanning demos, EPs, singles, splits, and a long sequence of full‑length albums. Releases like Colossal Darkness (2013), Sword and Sorcery (2015), and Chronicles from the Realms Beyond (2017) established their signature sound: triumphant, melodic, and steeped in literary references. Later works—Draconian Age (2021), Tales from the Edge of Time (2023), and the upcoming Runes of Power (2025)—show a band increasingly confident in blending blackened harshness with power‑metal clarity.

Númenor’s lineup has always been anchored by Despot Marko Miranović, whose harsh vocals and conceptual direction define the band’s identity. Guitarist and multi‑instrumentalist Srđan Branković (Alogia, Expedition Delta) brought a high level of musicianship and melodic sophistication, helping bridge the gap between Serbian power metal and the band’s blackened roots. Over the years, the group has included a rotating cast of keyboardists and drummers drawn from Serbia’s progressive and symphonic metal circles.

Their work has appeared on international compilations, and their partnership with Elevate Records has given them a stable platform for global distribution—rare for a Serbian band operating in this stylistic niche.
