The Invocate emerged from AsunciĂłn in 2015 as a black/death metal project rooted in the South American underground’s characteristic extremity—raw, violent, and steeped in the chaotic energy that defines the region’s extreme metal lineage. Their sound fuses the cold, hostile atmosphere of black metal with the weight and brutality of death metal, producing a sharp, aggressive hybrid driven by relentless percussion, harsh vocals, and dark, dissonant riffing.
The band’s only known release, the EP Psychopathy (2017), introduced their approach with a compact but forceful statement: fast, abrasive guitar work, cavernous vocal delivery, and a bleak, oppressive atmosphere. The EP circulated primarily through underground channels, gaining attention for its intensity and its adherence to the raw, unpolished aesthetics typical of South American black/death metal.
Despite limited recorded output, The Invocate has remained active, operating independently and maintaining a low public profile. Their lineup—featuring musicians with backgrounds in other Paraguayan extreme metal acts—anchors the project in the local scene while keeping its identity deliberately minimal and uncompromising.
